A common problem in larger businesses is that projects are often delegated to inexperienced staff with inadequate supervision. Senior staff who may have been involved during the preliminary stages often have limited ongoing involvement during the critical design development and documentation stages. Errors, delays, misunderstandings and other problems can develop which can be difficult to rectify.
Our intention at MCA Studio is to 'stay small' to avoid this problem. The partners retain hands-on involvement with all projects, from feasibility to completion. Projects are tightly controlled and project issues are identified and managed in good time. In particular, we have identifed the following key issues requiring careful management:
A common sense approach to concept design which focuses on sustainable commercial outcomes, rather than prevailing fashions
Understanding the importance of time and cost constraints
Careful attention to site constraints and 'buildability'
Recognising the importance of energy efficiency and occupational health and safety as design criteria
Rigorous management of the Development Approval process and other statutory controls
Understanding the importance of high quality and accurate documentation in minimising client risk
Careful management and co-ordination of other consultants
Our clients can be assured of having an experienced partner fully involved on even the smallest projects.
